Aging & Disability Resource Center

Description: The ADRC of NW WI uses volunteers in a number of capacities—our programs would not be possible without them! Please see the volunteer section on our webpage for a description of each volunteer opportunity and for the areas we are currently in need of volunteers.

Burnett County Drug and Alcohol Court

Description: Burnett County Drug Court is looking for occasional volunteers to help out with transportation needs, general education diplomas and/or high school equivalency diplomas. Volunteers will need to sign a release of information (ROI) for confidentiality reasons.

Burnett County Family Resource Center, Inc.

Description: We look for volunteers to do a variety of tasks. They may include but are not limited to: Helping at events including prepping snacks and crafts, cleaning and washing dishes, light office work such as answering phones and assisting the public, helping with Baby Go Round which may include sorting and washing clothes. Volunteer would need to be able to pass a background check and having a valid driver’s license is a plus (unless a student).

Description: Volunteers will help others in emergent situations (house fires, fleeing domestic violence,etc.) with clothing and household items.

Description: Volunteers would assist with office work, answering phones, making folders, and assisting with group and community events.

Grantsburg School District

Description: We offer volunteer opportunities that enrich the lives of both the student and the volunteer. We are always seeking volunteers to help students with reading, assist with Mad City Money (a high school experiential learning experience) and help with occasional administrative tasks such as preparing newsletters for mailings. Humane Society of Burnett County

Description: Volunteers are needed to help with the following: dog kennel assistant, dog socializer, follow-up adoptions, bather/groomer, dog walker, special events, maintenance, office assistant, newsletter committee, web page, photographer, dog trainer, transport animals and supplies, and fund raising.

Larsen Family Public Library

Description: Volunteering at the Larsen Family Public Library provides important support for our library’s mission. These are some of the basic tasks that a volunteer may do: check library materials out; check library materials in; issue and replace library cards; miscellaneous tasks: collecting money for photocopies, monitoring internet use, keeping collections in order, helping patrons locate materials, providing simple directional information.

Ruby’s Food Shelf

Description: Help stamp out hunger in our community. Ruby’s Food Shelf is run by volunteers who assist recipients in selecting food options, help restock shelves, unload our delivery truck, or assist with fundraising activities. During the summer months, there are opportunities to help with our community garden and be involved in gleaning produce from farmers partnering with us.
Hours: Except for holidays, Ruby’s is open every Monday and Friday 10-2, and Wed 10-4

Ruby’s Second Hand Store

Description: Do you like organizing, sorting, and having fun? If so, then Ruby’s Second Hand Store needs your help! We are looking for friendly volunteers to help sort donations of clothing and household items, help price the items, and help display them in our store.

Salvation Army

Description: Volunteer Bell Ringers are needed beginning November 15th and going through December 31st in Burnett County.  Donations made through the Red Kettle Campaign stay local to help the homeless and others in need.  Sign up at www.registertoring.com
